The 2nd and 3rd year FIME students visited the Rukavishnikov Estate Museum

The 2nd and 3rd year FIME students visited the Rukavishnikov Estate Museum. The tour in English was fascinating and insightful. The guys stepped into the historical past of the city, saw what the Verhnevolzhskaya Embankment looked like at the beginning of the 20th century, and got to know about one of the most influential people in Nizhny Novgorod, merchant S.M. Rukavishnikov. The luxurious interiors of the Russian merchant's estate made a great impression: the dining room decorated in the old Russian style; the front marble staircase; the ballroom rich in stucco, with sparkling chandeliers and a huge mirror. The items of furniture, clothes, household items aroused keen interest.
The tour passed in an easy-going, lively and friendly way. The students admired the brilliant work of the guide who answered all the questions and shared many valuable facts for a better understanding of Russian culture. The Rukavishnikov Estate Museum was noted as an atmospheric place of old Nizhny Novgorod.
