PRMU AUTHORIZED TO CONDUCT CLINICAL TRIALS OF MEDICAL PRODUCTS FOR EAEU COUNTRIES
Privolzhsky Research Medical University has been accredited to conduct clinical trials and clinical laboratory testing of medical products (specifically
clinical laboratory testing of medical products (specifically, in vitro laboratory diagnostics) in
conformity with the standard of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Included in the Unified
Register of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are as few as 37 Russian healthcare providers.
As of today, PRMU is the only center in Privolzhsky Federal District authorized to conduct
clinical trials of medical products and laboratory diagnostic testing. Manufacturers of medical
products and test kits certified through PRMU framework will be able to mass-produce their
products in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
The Member States can also apply to PRMU to have the products developed in the territory of
their states tested. Compliant with the standard of the Eurasian Economic Commission, PRMU
can test medical products and laboratory systems in vitro commissioned by any Member State of
the EAEU. Once the manufacturer receives an efficacy and safety certificate, its product shall
qualify for export within the Union. If we monitor the dynamism of the healthcare sector
development in Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, PRMU is expected to be
witnessing a large inflow of applications from abroad.
PRMU has extensive experience in cooperation with international partners. Work-related and
scientific exchanges, internships for students and young professionals are held in more than 15
countries worldwide.

This is an opportunity not only to expand the export of Russian medical products, but also to
diversify the domestic market with high-quality R&D products, - as Nikolay Karyakin, Rector of PRMU, pointed out.
