Overseas Russian University Alumni Unite in Africa for a Forum

As part of the Russian delegation headed by Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo, Tamara Bardinskaya, Head of PRMU International Affairs Department, and Anna Ogonkova, Deputy Head for Academic Mobility, visited the State University of Dar es Salaam and a private school of the Filbert Bayi Foundation in Tanzania. Representatives of top universities in Tanzania met potential PRMU applicants hailing fr om this country. PRMU exhibition stands in Dar es Salaam and the island of Zanzibar aroused keen interest among the visitors. A decision on cooperation was made following the meeting with the representatives of the State University of Zanzibar.

Key future opportunities for collaboration between PRMU and the universities in Tanzania include academic mobility, advanced training courses and international exchange for the teachers, joint research, and internships for the students at university clinics.
During the visit, PRMU won support from Alexey Bondaruk, Director of the Russian House in Dar es Salaam, and Andrey Avetisyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United Republic of Tanzania, for promoting the University in this country.

Moreover, there was an unexpected but a very nice encounter with PRMU graduates from Tanzania on the island of Zanzibar: Mussa Aiman Jaffar and Seif Asha. They conducted a tour of the Mnazi Mmoja Zanzibar Hospital (wh ere they work) for the guests from their alma mater.
