University of Health Sciences and PRMU meet in Istanbul to discuss partnership possibilities
On July 23, 2026, Tamara Rudolfovna Bardinskaya, Head of PRMU’s International Affairs Department, and Anna Anatolyevna Ogonkova visited the University of Health Sciences (Sağlık Bilimleri Üiversitesi (SBÜ)) in Istanbul, where a work meeting was held with the President of the University, Kemalettin Aydın.
The parties discussed promising areas for development of cooperation in the fields of medical education, science and academic exchanges. The President of the University of Health Sciences noted that he had carefully studied PRMU’s educational programs and expressed interest in building a long-term and meaningful partnership focused on achieving practical results.
Special attention was paid to the issues of improving medical education, including a discussion of training young specialists, integrating fundamental and clinical disciplines, as well as the organizing postgraduate education programs. Representatives of the parties exchanged experiences in the field of training doctors, developing clinical bases and implementing educational programs in accordance with the requirements of national accreditation systems.
Following the meeting, the main stages of further cooperation were identified:
- Development of international academic mobility programs for students and teachers;

Creation of joint Master's degree programs;

Organization of teacher exchanges in the priority areas of "Biochemistry" and "Anatomy" in November this year;

Development of joint scientific research and publication activity in international scientific journals;

Joint preparation and implementation of international grant projects;

Expanding cooperation with partners from Central Asian countries, as well as using the experience of cooperation with medical universities in Uzbekistan and Belarus.
The initiative to hold an international meeting on the development of global medical education and its future directions was discussed separately. It is expected that the best practices of medical education from 15 countries will be presented as part of the preparation of the project. During the meeting, President Kemalettin Aydin emphasized the University of Health Sciences' commitment to the practical implementation of joint projects.:
‘We are a Muslim country that has made significant progress in its time. We are ready to work and act for the development of medical education and science.’
Representatives of PRMU invited their Turkish colleagues to visit the Russian Federation to further develop partnership relations. The parties also agreed to prepare and sign a memorandum of understanding.
At the end of the meeting, memorable gifts were exchanged. As a sign of respect and strengthening friendly relations, the President of the University of Health Sciences was presented with the famous gingerbread from Gorodets and a traditional Russian box with a Khokhloma painting.
