PRMU student from India finished the marathon in Nizhny Novgorod
On October 4, 2026, the 6th annual Nizhny Novgorod Marathon was held, attracting about five thousand participants. Among the participants in the 42.2‑km race was an Indian student, Doltode Omkar Ramchandra.
Omkar is a third‑year student at Privolzhsky Research Medical University (PRMU). He completed the classic marathon distance in 5 hours 26 minutes and 32 seconds, finishing in 244th place. For an amateur, this is a great result, especially considering that the course ran along the city’s central streets along the Volga — from the Nizhny Novgorod stadium, through the Kanavinsky Bridge and Nizhnevolzhskaya Embankment.
The Nizhny Novgorod Marathon traditionally brings together runners not only from Russia but also from other countries, getting well-known as one of the most hospitable events in the Volga region.
We sincerely wish Omkar success in his studies and new sporting achievements! May medicine and running go hand in hand, and the perseverance that helps him conquer marathon distances lead to the most ambitious goals. Health, strength, and inspiration — there are still many starts and victories ahead!
